Solar and Heat Pump Systems

Project (Task) Description

Task 44 was completed in December 2013.

The final reports are available under "Publications". Some Task reports have a restricted diffusion. Contact your country representatine in the participants list for more information on those reports.

All Task 44 methodologies and findings will appear in a final handbook to be published in mid 2014 by Wiley VCH.

We will post soon the book availability and all order information.

Thanks to the subtask leaders and all active participants in this Task for an outstanding work on a complex topic.

Task 44 aimed at optimizing combinations of solar thermal energy and heat pumps, primarily for one single houses.

The following items were in focus:

  • Small-scale residential heating and hot water systems that use heat pumps and any type of solar thermal collectors as the main components.
  • Systems offered as one product from a system supplier/manufacturer and that are installed by an installer.
  • Electrically driven heat pumps, but during the development of performance assessment methods thermally driven heat pumps will not be excluded.
  • Market available solutions and advanced solutions (produced during the course of the Task).
